Avila Property Owners Association

The Avila Property Owners Association, Inc. (A.P.O.A.) is a Florida non-profit corporation to which all Avila property owners automatically belong. It is legally responsible for implementing and enforcing community standards and must “protect and maintain the integrity of the developer’s grand design and the security of the property owner’s investment.” A.P.O.A. has the total responsibility for all common areas, including streets, landscaped medians, gatehouses, security systems and staff, office building and easements. It has the power to create a budget and collect fees to support these duties.

From the beginning, Avila was conceived as the model by which elegant living is measured. Inspired by a 16th Century walled city in Spain and dedicated to enduring quality, this is a county club community of uncompromised excellence.

The developer of this magnificent community is SICO, Inc. which is wholly owned by J. Robert Sierra and his three sons John (Hi) Jr.; Stuart and Michael. Bob Sierra, a Tampa native, is widely known in Hillsborough County and throughout the nation as a highly regarded developer of golf course communities. Together with his partner Jack Nicklaus, the team has created some of the finest golf course communities in the United States.

Avila encompasses over 900 acres of naturally beautiful land graced with oak, pine and cypress trees, abundant wildlife, sparkling lakes and ponds, peaceful conservation areas and a community park and playground for the exclusive use of Avila Property Owners and their guests.

There are approximately 395 residences in Avila. When completely developed, Avila will contain 428 home-sites. Avila is located approximately 10 miles from down town Tampa and within a 20 minute drive to the Tampa International Airport.

An Architectural Review Committee safeguards the community’s high aesthetic standards. This committee reviews and approves all building, landscaping and property modifications.

Avila’s controlled-access policy is designed both to preserve residents’ privacy and protect investment values. The gatehouse entry assures you a personal welcome home. Avila Golf & Country Club is a very private full-service club featuring a spectacular 18-hole championship golf course that was redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1988.
